Laminated Glass

Insulite fabricates laminated glass on a state-of-the-art infrared heat processing system. The production line will laminate from 1/8” (2.7mm) to 1/2" (12 mm) thick flat float glass products, and use a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer or inoplast interlayer to achieve the overall laminated make-up required. This processing system is set up to incorporate annealed or heat-treated glass into the laminated unit.

The laminating system applies heat and rolled pressure at regulated speeds to ensure a bond between glass and interlayer. When the finished unit comes off the processing line it is then loaded into the autoclave which employs high pressure and heat to ensure a stronger bond between the glass and interlayer (PVB or Inoplast) thus creating the finished product.
