Insulite fabricates laminated glass on a state-of-the-art infrared
heat processing system. The production line will laminate from 1/8"
(2.7mm) to 1/2" (12 mm) thick flat float glass products, and
use a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer by DuPont® to achieve
the overall laminated make-up required. This processing system is
set up to incorporate annealed and heat-treated glass into the laminated
unit.
The laminating system applies heat and rolled pressure at regulated
speeds to ensure a bond between glass and interlayer. When the finished
unit comes off the processing line it is then loaded into the autoclave
which employs high pressure and heat to ensure a stronger bond between
the glass and PVB interlayer thus creating the finished product.
The glass industry is going through a change due to weather conditions,
noise and destruction. We have gone to extreme lengths to try and
forecast where we think the industry is headed, so we have decided
to expand into this market with state-of-the-art equipment in order
to provide customers a superior product with competitive lead times.
