Kiewit, a prominent member of the Fortune 500 and a titan in the construction and engineering realm across North America, set out on a remarkable endeavor: consolidating multiple offices in the Kansas City area into a singular, cohesive campus. Beyond mere consolidation, Kiewit saw this venture as an opportunity to not only optimize space but also to fortify its cultural identity, fuel growth strategies, and retain top talent.

In the heart of Lenexa City Center's dynamic mixed-use development, VanTrust took the helm in crafting Kiewit's regional headquarters. Collaborating with design-build partners HOK and JE Dunn Construction, they brought to life a six-story, 182,000-square-foot office tower complemented by a 1,300-space parking garage and accessible public parking options. Here, the design team embarked on a journey to reimagine the entry experience, paying homage to Kiewit's storied craftsmanship and unique culture. Furthermore, with foresight and adaptability in mind, the project was conceived with expansion capabilities seamlessly woven into the campus's master plan.

The office's layout, bathed in natural light, fosters collaboration and creativity among Kiewit's workforce. Alongside flexible workspaces, the facility boasts conference and training rooms, an auditorium, and a host of amenities including a full-service cafeteria and coffee shop. Integral to the project is its integration within the community fabric, fostering a sense of place and connection. Residents enjoy easy access to Lenexa City Center's vibrant offerings, from shopping and dining to recreational pursuits, all just a short stroll away.
